We put a lot of care into manufacturing and assure you the best workmanship when making your latex clothing. In order that you enjoy wearing it and keep it in best condition we would like to give some tips:

	WEARING LATEX

	Latex clothing is usually made up skin-tight. When you get into your “2nd Skin” please note:

		Do not pull – even if rubber stretches

		Take your time and enjoy getting into it

		Long fingernails and sharp items e.g. jewellery may puncture the material

		Please take extra care when using perfume, baby oil or heavy make-up (as it usually contains grease and may deteriorate the surface)

		Make sure your hands are free from any residue of oil, grease and any traces of metal by thoroughly cleaning your hands before touching the latex

		Do not use oil based liquids as a dressing aid e.g. baby oil

		When putting on skin-tight latex clothing use talc, unscented baby powder or silicone based lubricants. They are grease free, odourless, tasteless, dermatologically tested and especially developed for latex material. Preferably, you should apply it directly to your skin; transparent latex will become „clear“ as well.

		Pay extra attention when using silicone spray. This will leave a stubborn slippery film on the floor.

		Be aware of exposure to unknown liquids e.g. wet bar counters

		Keep latex away from copper or copper alloys (e.g. coins, belt-buckles, metal zips). This will cause brown stains especially on light-coloured latex and start a chemical reaction that destroys the material.

		Keep latex away from direct sunlight.

		Stay away from open fire / naked flames. Rubber can easily catch fire!

		When wearing latex underneath your usual clothes the textile may rub the surface in certain areas and make it dull. These areas may lose their gloss, even when using a polish.

	CLEANING LATEX :

	One of the valued features of latex is that it seals airtight and prevents liquids from entering or leaking out. Latex is a natural product and it goes without saying that our „beloved material“ must be thoroughly cleaned and well looked after.

		Hand-wash your latex clothing after wearing (approx. 5 min). Use lukewarm water (approx. 30 °C) and add washing-up liquid, mild detergent or shampoo. It is better to wash the inside of your garment to maintain the gloss of the outer surface

		Do not use soap, soap powder or cleaning agents. They contain chemicals that will adversely affect latex.

		Do not use a washing machine or a tumble dryer.

		Rinse the garment thoroughly and hang it up to drip dry with the inner surface on the outside. Wipe away excess water with a soft towel.

		Make sure no metal parts e.g. zippers, belt-buckles are in contact with the wet surface.

		Carefully peel away parts which stick together after drying using some talc or baby powder if necessary.

		Adding a spoonful of silicone lubricant to the soapy water will help achieve an even shine after drying. It will eventually prevent parts of the latex from sticking together. It is advisable to use a special plastic tub as the silicone lubricant might leave an unwanted sticky film in your bath tub.

POLISHING LATEX:

In order that your latex garment will be „ready to go“ for your next adventure we recommend the following treatments:

When completely dry, powder the inside of your garment with talc or unscented baby powder.

Polish the outside of your garment with a sponge and our water based Sealwear Polish. Alternatively you may use silicone lubricant or spray. However, in this case, latex tends to stick together.

Do not use a hard or rough cloth for polishing as the glossy surface can be permanently scratched.

STORING LATEX:

It’s not unusual to store your latex clothing in a „special“ place. Make allowance for the following:

Only store your clothing when completely dry, including the zips and fastenings.

Hang your latex garments instead of folding flat as this will leave permanent creases

For hanging use our Sealwear Hangers or padded hangers.

Use clamp hangers for light and small items, e.g. masks, stockings, etc.

Bright sunlight or UV light will degrade latex and eventually destroy the material.

Do not expose your latex clothing to direct sunlight any longer than necessary.

Keep your garments stored in a dark, cool and dry place, e.g. in a wardrobe. Preferably use black suit bags or plastic bags.

Whilst stored, make sure that your garments will not be in contact with any metal parts such as zips, belt-buckles, etc. or rough textile garments as they might permanently scratch the glossy surface.
